LONG TERM CARE EDUCATION GAME
- This board game requires the players to correctly answer questions to advance around the board. The questions relate to a single topic of one of fifteen mandatory inservices. In addition there are "call light cards." When a player lands on a call light square, they draw a card which may say "surveyors in the building, go back four spaces" or "thanks for working overtime, advance three spaces." Playing the game for one hour meets the requirement for completion of that inservice. When non-nursing personnel play the game, the DSD need not be present.
- The game can be played with five single players or teams. Instructions with the game suggest how team play can be accomplished. It also gives an opportunity for a player to win a small prize such as a scratcher ticket or a free lunch.
- Included in the game is one game board which depicts the floor plan of an average nursing facility with rooms, beauty shop, classroom, etc. There are five tokens and one die. There are fifteen sets of questions covering all required mandatory topics.
